TRW is happy to announce the most recent phase of work has been completed at the University at Albany’s CNSE Downtown (College of Nanotechnology, Science, and Engineering).
Former home of Albany High School, the monumental 127,000 s.f. structure was built in 1912, substantially completed over the span of just 11 months. This new occupancy is a terrific example of new occupancy becoming the next “highest and best use” for such a structure.
Since 2015, TRW has worked in conjunction with CSARCH to design and oversee construction of the renovation. It blends carefully-designed, modern spaces with restoration of significant, character-defining areas of the building where students will thrive for years to come!
Following completion of this phase earlier in 2024, the work on the CNSE building was recognized by Historic Albany Foundation, receiving their Stewardship Award. This award was given in recognition of maintaining and restoring a historic structure despite the challenges that may (and do) arise in the nature of preservation work.
We are motivated by this recognition and partnership with the University at Albany and CSARCH to continue Rebuilding Communities by Design!
